Tyler Texas Beautiful FLowers |
Once a year, for two weeks in the Spring, there is an event in Tyler, Texas called "the azalea trail". And I say this in all seriousness.... for every lover of beauty out there in this great country of ours, the Tyler Texas Azalea Trail is a no-brainer! Plan a trip; bring your friends; bring your cameras. Stay several days so you can see it all.
The city puts up markers and arrows directing beauty-watchers through the older parts of south Tyler, up and down the brick streets, past gorgeous homes built from the 1880s through the 1930s and 40s.
About the beginning of the last week in March, the cars and vans and buses begin to arrive; and the streets clog up to such a degree that it's hard to move. So people park and get out and walk the trail. And they're all SO glad they did! Because when one is sitting inside a bus, all he can do is look. And that is, by no means, all that one should do in the midst of such sensual beauty.
You see, when an older home comes up for sale in Tyler's Azalea District, sometimes called the historic brick street district, somebody's going to buy it for the purpose of restoring it (see the picture on the INVEST TYLER page). After all, these are HISTORIC homes. And they're worth restoring. And then they plant more azaleas! Not just azaleas; but they do plant MORE azaleas!
And the owners are so proud of their restored homes that they actually invite these beauty-watchers into their yards to enjoy the flowers. Some even have their homes open for viewing! This is Tyler Texas real estate at its finest!
Let me attempt, in an admittedly inept way, to paint a picture for you here. I'm a realtor - not a poet; and causing you to see and smell and touch - to "experience" - through a few lines of narrative is a most daunting task. But those who love flowers will know what I'm talking about. Walking through all, or parts, of the six-mile trail is, simply put, exquisite! For those who are especially appreciative of flowers, all the senses are "attacked" from every direction. Wave upon wave of color - VIVID color; plus the varieties of flower scents. The emotional load from so much creation glory is acute. And there are dozens of these homes and estates where it's perfectly acceptable to stroll around on the grounds and touch and smell the flowers!
So, whether it's a one hour drive-through or a three day soaking-and-basking in the delightful splendor of so much beauty, make your plans to be in Tyler, Texas sometime during the two weeks beginning in late March. You'll be glad you did.
And while you're at it, please stop at Century 21 Advantage and say hello. If you think you'd like to own some property in our city, we'll be happy to listen to your criteria and find the ideal properties for you to see. Tyler Texas real estate has it all!
